Different Meditations mentioned in Vedic Scriptures

Few different types of meditations from Vedic Scriptures are :

  • Sun Meditation

This meditation helps in taping energy, power, and consciousness from nature. The foremost input is the Sun god. Unification with the deity and power of mantra. Once we unite with the deity and power of mantra we consume the power, energy, and consciousness of the deity.

Purification of all five elements takes place and gradually all psychic powers are unfolded within us. Our potential is unfolded.

The process of becoming finite to infinite is enhanced. This can be done by Shambhavi Meditation.

In nature, Sun is considered the most powerful element. Sun is considered to be life-giving characteristics. E,g plant it needs water and sunlight. Sunlight gives plants nourishment. Taping of solar energy gives nourishment. We need to learn to download the minerals, nutrients, proteins from solar energy. Yogis have learned the art of living on sunlight. This is done through Shambhavi meditation. This transmutes all darker energies into light.

Best time to practice Sun Meditation

  • Moon Meditation

This universe is made up of energy which is in layers — template and programmed. The two forms of energy are male energy (Yang) and female energy (Yin). Every human body has two components of energy; the right part of the body is male energy and the left part of the body is female energy. When we say male energy it doesn’t have to do with male sex, similarly when we say female energy; it doesn’t have to do with the female sex.

Both the male and female energy are inseparable. Male energy is the base of female energy. That is why lord shiva is seen lying beneath the goddess shakti.

Earth is inclined on its axis. If the Moon collapse the Earth will fall from its axis. This is the reason we celebrate Lunar Year.

Components of female (yin) energy, as per Veda.

  • Central Creator of life force energy
  • Fundamental energy the very creative energy. She is a major component of the electromagnetic field around the human body.
  • She destroys what all need to destroy i.e which is not required. Why it destroys unwanted because it always seeks the truth. Anything which is not true in your life will be destroyed.
  • She is humming pulsating energy. Sound of musical instruments. In our Veda it resembles the goddess Saraswati.
  • Female energy sustains everything.
  • She feels the emotions. This energy is governed by emotions
  • She resides mostly in the lower chakras of the human body. Mooladhar, Swadishthan, and Manipur chakra. Manipur is considered to be the central energy system.
  • She is the magnetic component whereas He is the electric component of the electromagnetic field around the human body which we often express as aura.
  • When chakras are activated she energy is activated. Each petal of every chakra has a beej mantra resembling she energy. Our Veda has described the Shree Vidhya meditation as the ultimate meditation for materialization.
  • She is receiving energy. It downloads wisdom, creativity, power from the cosmic world into your own body in lower chakras. Chakras are energy reservoirs.
  • She brings what she needs.
  • She seeks beauty.
  • She works with the life cycle. Since energy is dominant in females, they have monthly cycles.
  • She is the energy of being.

A major part of our body is water and the Moon sync with water. Moon resembles the female energy and resembles our emotions too; which is another dimension of female energy in our astro world.

  • Healing Meditation

This meditation is generally done to heal a person, situation, land, or object. The one who is healing gets connected to the supreme consciousness and then redirects the Sanjeevani shakti into the body who has to be healed. You’re just a messenger in this process, not a doer. The doer is the supreme consciousness.

  1. Disease Healing

Our ancient Vedas suggest, always be in a Yogic state and inhale cosmic energy. When we inhale cosmic energy, it purifies all the elements of our body. And when we're able to purify all the elements of our body; we can manifest our goals in life, and life becomes simple. On the contrary, if all or one element become impure then disease occurs; which is a disturbance in ease.

2. Earth Healing

Earth Star Chakra — This chakra is not a conventional chakra and not on the list of famous onboard seven chakra systems. It is a grounding chakra like root chakra but it is situated inside mother earth. It is all about grounding yourself to mother earth and be one with the central creative energy. When we’re in constant connection with nature and not living in suburbs, flats, or modern cities we were in constant connection with this chakra. That’s why it is always advisable not to live in high towers. Living in high towers gets you disconnected from mother earth.

This is one of the reasons why we are naturally advised to sleep on floors and not over bed. Being grounded is being part of the ecosystem. Tribals in villages have their earth star chakra quite developed and strong as compared to people from modern cities.

We’re connected to earth star chakra in two ways —

  1. Energy going down to star chakra from your aura and body — healing the earth star chakra. So you directly contribute to the healing of the earth's star chakra.
  2.  The energy coming up to your root chakra, to your aura from earth star chakra

  • Chakra Meditation

What are Chakras?

Chakras are part of the human electromagnetic energy system. Why electromagnetic energy system? Because this very energy system of the human body cannot be found anatomically. It cannot be seen through naked eyes.

For the argument of those who seek scientific perspective:

Scientifically, it resembles Faraday’s imagination of electric charges were linked together by lines of force in empty space. Faraday imagined as if they were mechanical oscillators. So, he might have seen the wave either as longitudinal or transverse waves. Somewhere in the thoughts of Faraday’s vibrations, Maxwell discovered his elegant and polished mathematical equations to electrodynamics.

The three basic constituents of the human electromagnetic energy system are:

  1. The electromagnetic field around the body. Your aura.
  2. Meridian Points. Conjunction points of 72 lakh nadis.
  3. Chakras. Energy Reservoirs.

Chakras are energy systems, energy reservoirs. they receive energy from different sources; like when your consciousness is connected to higher esteemed consciousness the chakras tend to download the energy from higher consciousness into it acting as an energy powerhouse.

Chakra is located at the very intersection of two nadis — Ida and Pingala nadi. These two nadis intersect at each chakra of our prana shareer. All the psychic emotions of our all the past life karmas are stored in these chakras as well as within Ida and Paingla nadis. These impressions are stored in our chakra, which is what we call it as “Sanskara”. These are all past life impressions, either good, bad or worse. These chakras in turn are connected to 72 lakh nadis.

The left part of every human is female energy the Yin — governed by Ida nadi. Moon resembles Ida nadi.

The right part of the human body is male energy the Yang — governed by Pingala nadi. Sun resembles Pingala nadi

Best time to practice Chakra Meditation

  • Or any comfortable time.

What is a mantra?

A collection of all the prevalent sounds or hymns present in different dimensions. All the mantras consist of the prevalent sound present in different dimensions.

Mantras are a collection of sacred seed which when repeatedly chanted gets embedded in our consciousness. The plant which comes out of the seed of mantras is "I can do it". "I have the courage to win". The plant brings fruits of joy, health, wealth, healthy relation.

Mantras are a group of sacred words in the Sanskrit language believed to reap religious, magical power, or spiritual powers in and around the environment.

Another prevalent definition of mantra is — it is a bunch of sacred and purest of the pure flowers which we offer in the name and praise of a special diety by rendering the very mantra. E.g Gayatri mantra, Lord Ganesha mantra, Durga beej mantra, Hanumaan chalisa.

There're two types of mantras

  1. Tantrok mantras
  2. Vedic mantras

·Both these mantras are locked by our ancient rishi's. You need to know the unlocking method or a self-realized guru or master who can only provide the active mantra to you.

The Third type of mantra is

This is a very powerful mantra and not locked even.

What is Sabar mantra?

Repeatedly the message we give to our inner self; the message we resonate in our own universe through our thoughts is also a mantra called Sabar mantras.

One of the powerful Sabar mantras is

I accept myself ....(the way I am).

I forgive myself ....

I love myself unconditionally .....

All mantras are formed from 32 varna mala and 16 matryaen. They're the atoms; beej of the mantras. The same words we use in our daily sentence, hence our every sentence are formed from the atoms of 32 varna mala and 16 matrayen which have infinite powers. And when we combine intent emotions into it, it becomes sabar mantras.

Charged yantras play a very significant role in diluting the negative energy of the surrounding. Shree Yantra is one of the best yantras to be used for meditation. Shree Yantra is considered to be a form of goddess Bhagwati the central creative force’ the mother earth.

Prati Prasava the Sanskrit word meaning rebirth. Practicing this meditation gives you a new meaning of life — you’re reborn

Prati Prasava Meditation (past life regression) is a very powerful meditation to burn your karmic layers. It’s a process to heal your past life karmic baggage and get evolved. This meditation must be performed under the guidance of any Himalayan yogi or any ascendant master only.

Let go of your past impressions is your past life regression. Heal your wounds, your trauma, your psychic impressions. Our energy system weighs down by trauma and psychic impressions. Prati Prasav Meditation (past life regression) is one of the very powerful meditative tools to burn our karmic layers. Believe system creates an electromagnetic energy pattern within you, which controls your thought. We have five bodies. Fourth body Gyan Maya kosha controls emotions, unconscious reflex actions. Gyanmaya kosha has all the file contracts stored; in Vedic language, it's the sanchit karma— the sanskaras. These sanchit karmas create reactions towards every incident. • Tattava Purification Meditation

There are Seven Elements within our body :

If the earth element becomes impure; all the diseases related to bones occur in the body.

If water element becomes impure; disease related to kidney, urinary organs, reproductive organs take place.

If fire element becomes impure; digestion problem, stomach problem, liver, and diabetes take place.

If air element becomes impure; it leads to heart problems, breathing trouble.

If the sky element becomes impure; it leads to mind contamination, schizophrenia, confusion.

The sixth element is Guru tattva situated in Ajna chakra between the two eyebrows.

The seventh element is present in sahastratha chakra between the two brains.

The person having Guru tattva pure would be able to purify the other 5 elements of the body; on the contrary, if all the 5 elements are pure and Guru tattva is impure then sooner or later other 5 elements of the person is bound to get impure.

Purification of Param tattva and Guru tattva is of utmost importance in human life. This is one of the main reasons why we’re born with the human body. These two elements act as positive catalysts in raising our consciousness.

  • Trataka — Concentrated gazing

Before going to bed try 15-minute trataka meditation to relax your body, mind, and soul after a hectic burnout day. Trāṭaka - Wikipedia Trataka is concentrated gazing at a light source or a point.

Instead of candlelight or a single-point meditation, my preference would be a diya made out of mustard oil. And when doing trataka always ensure to switch off electric lights in the room. Mustard oil light creates high positive energy within the room and its aura absorbs all forms of negative energy easily, so for me, mustard oil diya is the best; you can try as per your own wish though.

Best time to practice trataka

  • Practice trataka before going to bed.

I salute you and salute the very divine within you.
